Mission and Vision
Our mission is to restore & optimize advocacy rights in speech therapy. We do this by fulfilling our vision of empowering every individual to embody their fundamental importance in their therapeutic journey.
Due to the increased need in speech therapy services as well as the transient nature of Nevada, and increased growth in population in California, there has been a decrease in resources for individuals who need speech therapy services. Patients and their families deserve to have a voice and be fully recognized in their therapeutic journey. ROARin’ Speech Therapy strives to value the unique voices of every individual by:
- Restoring the right for individuals and their families to select the goals that meet functional daily communication needs.
- Optimizing speech, feeding and AAC services by collaborating with other specialists (e.g. ENTs, dentists, allergists, orthodontists, medical doctors, ABA therapists, psychologists) through an interprofessional collaborative model to solve complex problems and achieve common goals.
- Advocating the needs of each individual’s concerns by creating treatments plans that incorporate cultural values, linguistic differences, and socioeconomic status. We push to decrease knowledge barriers and advocate for the individuals we serve until they can advocate for themselves.
- Rightfully explaining the best ethical practices according to evidenced based research and medical practices. Each individual deserves to understand their rights. You can not advocate for what you do not know. It is imperative that we accurately explain every step of treatment.
Assessments and Services
ROARin’ Speech Therapy offers comprehensive and single assessments. Evaluations that are administered included: language, speech, feeding/swallowing, fluency, and AAC. All assessments are selected based on symptoms and concerns reported by patient, caregiver, and/or physician. After an initial evaluation is completed, an individualized plan of care is created if the patient and/or caregiver agrees to move forward with treatment. This plan of care may include a referral to the appropriate specialist (e.g. ENT, orthodontist, general dentist, allergist, etc.) to address underlying barriers before starting speech, language and/or feeding treatment. We look forward to creating a treatment plan that best meets the needs of each individual we serve!
